Culture is something I've always been interested in. Well, we don't have much of a choice, do we? We're constantly surrounded by it and it dictates our lives. Like a few of the others on this blog, I'm not from a particularly culturally enriched area so my background in the study is definitely lacking, but I realized a long time ago that it's just not possible for me to live and participate in something I know nothing about. That's why I wanted to take the class-to understand the beast that is culture.
Culture is day to day, culture is the ads you see and what they're selling; it's why we do what we do and who we do it for. Culture is people and they are my species. They're fascinating as study subjects. And on top of everything, the best part of culture, for me, is rejection and the then formulation of new culture. I like the constant evolution around us and would like to know more about it.
